This tire was OEM for my Liberty and was billed as the vehicle's "off road" tire.
The tire has excellent treadwear, and is excellent in the snow. Dry handling is also ok. Keep it slow around the curves becuase the vehicle wants to understeer.
However, wet traction is really bad. When I say bad, I mean downright dangerous at times - no matter if the tire is new or worn. The vehicle fishtails very easily, and I feel like I'm driving on ice when driving through rain on a highway - especially when rounding a turn on an exit ramp.
Off-road these tires are adequate at best. Driving through the pine barrens with the sugar sand, these tires are ok and they float well. However; in any other type of dirt, the treads instantly clog up and the only way my Jeep ever got through (light) mud was due to the car's weight and excellent 4wd gearing.
Overall, the treadwear is good, but for the money (or maybe a little extra more) you can get a tire that is much better in the rain, has BETTER treadwear, has less of a tendency to understeer, and is more competent off-road.
Due to the reviews, I'm thinking of purchasing a set of Firestone Destination A/Ts.
