An average tire is good for about 8000 miles before if becomes a pain with excessive road noise and cupping wear. Despite numerous tire rotations and alignments (free Firestone Lifetime alignment did not help!). Sticky and smooth for the first 5000 miles then a quick deterioration to the loudest tires I have every owned. BEWARE of directional tires, they will rarely last long. Note how few have milage warranties.
